Thank You Friends of TMP for 100,000 Reads

By Sabrina Samone, TMP

Certain milestones, we take  a second to acknowledge. Today is one of those days for TMP. The underdog of the Trans blogging scene has reached 100,000 page views. That may still rank us as the underdog, but it is far more than the 95,000 I had ever expected and I am humbly thankful to each and every supporter of this blog site.

I wanted to share my wild ideas of trans unity and the spiritual duality, that I personally feel, makes a person transgender. I purposefully did not set out to make this page about transitioning, or even being an advocate of seeking understanding from mainstream society. My goal has been to encourage our community to question our own ideas and beliefs. To talk about sometimes, taboo subjects in our community, like the division among men and women, sex work, races and transition status. I hope, I have begun a discussion, even on a small scale, within our community about re-thinking our own sometimes shameful attitudes, about what it means to be trans. I hope to continue to encourage all to see being transgender is not a limitation, but a divine gift. I hope this inspires many and help many more feel comfortable within their own skin. We don't have to be cis to be special, we are special because we are trans. I discuss many of  these topics in a series here on TMP entitled Defining Who We Are. TMP's celebration of those most inspiring within trans society, TMP's Annual Top 20 Most Influential People, has become one of the most viewed post here that is done annually on TMP's anniversary of Nov. 18. I also share my reviews of Trans related novels in a monthly book of the month post.

I have many things planned for TransMusePlanet in the future. I started TMP as a website, then converted to a personal blog page, and now through BlogSpot, I'm slowly returning to the original intensions of this blog; which is to have a variety of interest. One is a market place, currently selling the designs of Soul Manifest. Forums have often been an interest on trans websites, so now I've introduced the TMP Forum, where your voice can be heard. The original website was created as a collaborative website, to share voices from many sections of trans society. I'm glad to announce the TMP Guest Blog page is beginning to take shape. The Friends of TMP page will be shaping to be a resource page of useful information for our community. I love films and like the original website, I really wanted to pay tribute to the great films that have and are being made within our society. Now I will share and hopefully be able to always share the full length video of the films, on the TMP Movie Picks page. Lastly, the TMP Role Models, are my selection from across the board of trans society, in order to show diversity, inspiration,  and to promote unity within our culture. The future plans are to expand TransMusePlanet into publishing and eventually into film.

This blog site is accompanied  through several social network outlets. It's intention is to not only mention what the blog page is doing, but as a tool for news, entertainment, encouragement, inspiration, and conversation. Those sites include The TMP Daily Dispatch online newspaper, TMP Facebook page with over 3540 vocal and contributing friends. On Tumblr, the TMP Tumblr page is the more provocative page of pictures and stories within trans society. There is also a twitter page of TMP friends to follow, along with a new pinterest pageTMP Google + community page,  is where you will see the TMP blog post first. So how does all this work? Not by fans, or by followers but by Friends of TMP. My partner and big man in life, Aurelius Mark Angel, is the co-editor and helps keep me in line. Each social network page is helped by even more friends of TMP who act as administrators; Karen, Rebecca, Aurelius, Rebecca, Claire, Danny, Cord, Edwin, Charlotte, Shannon, Tim, Edward, Al, Candice, all assist in helping our community stay connected, promote knowledge and unity.

Most of all I'd like to thank the few contributors over the past two years, who have donated a total of 175 dollars to continue TMP. Every cent that has been contributed to TMP, over the past two years,  has been put back into the community by contributing to the Elizabeth Colbert-Busch Campaign in Charleston SC, who was a candidate for all people. A contribution was also made to the Mel Wymore campaign for City Council in New York City, and to the Transgender Law Center. The latest give back comes in the form of a 50$ gift card to Target for our #spring4unity blog/vlog contest along with point5cc.com and the film I Am The T. The winner will be announced the first week of April.

Considering those dear friends who have contributed so much of their time to the mission of TransMusePlanet, it is with a grateful and humble heart that I thank each and every reader to this blogsite for every single view of our latest 100,000th view. A special thank you to the most dedicated reader of TMP, a shout out to Mountain View, California. I don't know who you are but I know that there is someone in Mountain View California that has never missed one TMP blog post, so from the bottom of my heart I thank you my friend. Ironically, TMP's first blog post after our 100,000th view will not be for TMP, but expanding out with our #spring4unity contest partner, Point5cc.com in just a couple of days, look for it.

Thank you to each and every friend of TMP. Together,  we will all continue to 'Celebrate The Unity and Duality of Being Trans.

Point5cc's New Breast Form and Bra Donation Program

By Sabrina Samone, TMP
There's many reason transitioning can be hard. One way is on the pocket, especially in those beginning days. While we often think of transitioning as just taking the hormones E, or T, our wardrobes also must transition. This is why the first year of transitioning seems to be the most stressful time. After starting hormones that affect emotions, coming out to friends, and families. We also look to transition of our everyday items, we often take for granted years later. I remember a friend who just could not bring herself to walk into a store and purchase a bra, so I went with her. We, who have been living our truth for some time, often take for granted those around us that are just starting, and a world that seems larger than the universe to them.

It's why donations for items like bras and binders for those in our society, is so important. There are many reasons why someone may need help in attaining these items, not to even mention financial reasons, that can aid in the overall positive well being of someone suffering from gender dysphoria. There are many answering the call of giving back, but none as popular at doing so than Point5cc.com.
Their FTM Binder giveaways and donations have now been imitated throughout the community. There has always with Point5cc, been an effort to do the same for the female populations of trans society. Now they have introduced MTF Breast form or bra donations.

From Point5cc.com:

Point 5cc is currently collecting all new and lightly-used breast forms, bras that hold breast forms, or other trans feminine prosthetic garments for our new donation program.

Point5cc-Donation-Bras1Point 5cc developed the first binder exchange program that has been adopted by LGBT centers around the United States and has since donated over 350 chest binders to trans* and FTM people in need.

Help us mirror that success with our new initiative.

Donate your breast forms, bras that hold breast forms, or similar prosthetic garments to Point 5cc today and we will donate them to trans* and MTF people in need. To donate, use our Contact form or email Point5ccClothing@gmail.com. Thanks for your support and generosity!

Right now we are currently collecting as many garments as we can, and more details about how you can obtain your free breast forms will be shared shortly. Stay tuned.
Can’t donate but want to support? Tell all your friends and spread the word!

Spring Forward To Unity...A TMP Campaign For a Trans Society United

By Sabrina Samone, TMP
What is unity and what does it mean to us as a society? For me, growing up in a rural southern town called Hartsville, SC, it meant belonging to something. A chance to belong to something that wasn't the shameful or disgusting ideas about the world of TBLG, I constantly heard told by cisgender, heterosexual society. At the late blooming age of 21, I was finally coaxed, reluctantly, into going to my first TBLG bar. Despite my outward feelings, there was a part of me that longed to be in a place where I belonged. Where there were people just like me. The ideas of acceptance and freedom filled my mind. I had never felt gay, but somehow I believed what I was told; that this must be who I am.

I remember the first day I walked through the door of that seedy, hole in the wall bar in Florence, SC. My heart pounding with anticipation of the unknown. My two best friends at the time, eager as I was to make that step into the world we thought we belonged. I remember my eyes and ears lit up to the site and sounds of music and laser lights, as same sex people danced on the dance floor. I remember the feeling when I saw two men dancing, my mouth dropped and I knew then and there, maybe I didn't belong after all. As the night progressed, I was amazed at how divided this dreamt up utopian community was. You could split the room in half by skin color. In those two halves, you noticed small pockets of butch women and effeminate men dressed in men/women clothing. They were so applauded on stage, but given little attention outside of there like minded peers, throughout the bar. The TBLG scene in Florence/Myrtle Beach, was and in some ways still is, the most divided TBLG communities I've ever been apart of. Racism was more common in the gay scene than I had ever experienced in life. Transgender women were ridiculed by gay men in dresses, that thought there was something mentally wrong with you if you'd want to actually be a woman. My saving grace was meeting my first transgender friend.

After meeting someone I could relate too, we both knew, we had to escape the warped TBLG scene of that area, and quickly moved to Atlanta. Through the years I would feel more myself with other transgender people. I could relate and knew this was my journey. Even though that journey was more comforting, I was still sadden by the separations in Trans Society. It's a little disheartening to know you belong to the most oppressed group and notice the only thing that group can seem to do is oppress each other. It seems unity was not just an issue in mainstream society. It wasn't just an issue even in the TBLG communities, but even the most misunderstood group; Trans people, could not come together as one.
After deciding I'd like to write more, I started this blog. I wanted to focus on unity within our community, to promote and question how we can do even more to speak as one voice. I wanted there to be a place, that all voices in trans society can be seen and heard. That is still my hope for TransMusePlanet. As we change our clock an hour forward for Spring, I'd like TMP readers to help me send a message of unity throughout our society.

TMP, along with Point5cc.com, Tony Zosherafatin of the film 'I Am The T',  and my partner Dj Soul Manifest, would like to challenge our community to think about unity; Spring Forward To Unity campaign #spring4unity contest. A blog/vlog contest on your individual ways of promoting unity within our trans society. Between March 8th and March 30th 2015, I'm asking TMP readers, friends, to submit a blog/vlog on your personal views of Unity within our society. If you think we can do more as a community to be united. If you have an opinion about unity in trans society or what you do personally, to promote unity within our community.

The winning blog will receive a 50$ gift card from TMP to Target, a clothing item from Point5cc.com, be one of the first to view the first segment of the film "I Am The T" and 3 free downloads of the music from DJ Soul Manifest.
To enter submit your post to transmuseplanet@gmail.com. In two weeks 10 finalist will be judged by Aydian Dowling of Point5cc, Tony Zosherafatin and Dj Soul Mainifest and I. The 10 Finalist will be posted on TMP's Guest blog and the winner will be posted as well on Point5cc.com and the website of 'I Am The T".

Spring is about watching the beauty of life being reborn again, let's see to it as a community, that we do it united.
