As you sit at your laptop, or phone reading this, do me a favor. Turn off your television, ipod and listen. Can you hear it? Seriously...turn off all noises, tell your roommate to hush up. Listen...do you hear it? Can you hear the silence of the right wing conservative christian fundamentalist? Where is the noise now? Why are they silent?
The first celebrity in the recent Ashley Madison hacking dump was Josh Duggar, the eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, whose enormous, home schooled, right-wing Christian clan was the subject of the TLC show.
Last week, just a few weeks after TLC formalized the cancellation of "19 kids and counting", Gawker, posted evidence that Josh Duggar was a paying member of Ashley Madison, the social-networking site made to facilitate illicit extramarital affairs. He'd spent almost a thousand dollars on two different accounts between Feb, 2013 and May 2015, including an "affair guarantee" fee of two hundred and fifty dollars. Josh Duggar issued yet another famous Duggar regret statement where he writes, " I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife."
Six months ago, the Duggars, TLC's "19 Kids and Counting", were the role models for fanatics. Last August, Michelle Duggar, matriarch of the Duggar clan, sent out a robocall to residents of Fayetteville, Arkansas urging them to speak out against a proposed anti-discrimination law. The law, dubbed Ordinance 119, would devote a city employee to fielding complaints from resident who have been denied equal service in housing, employment and other civic matters in the city. It would also allow trans men and women to use public restrooms.
In the recording, she misrepresented the law saying, "The Fayetteville City Council is voting on an ordinance this Tuesday night that would allow men, yes I said men, to use women's and girls, restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas designated for females only. I don't believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls. I doubt that Fayetteville parents would stand for a law that would endanger their daughters or allow them to be traumatized by a man joining them in their private space."
Ultimately, the ordinance did not pass.
These spokesmen of hate, blasphemed God's name by using religion to justify their ignorance, judgement and hate. They had supporters through out the evangelical circles like pastor of conspiracy theories Michael Hoggard , who furthers hate toward transgender people by going as far as warning his listeners that transgender people are actually out to commit blood sacrifices of cis-gender people. Along with blatant transphobia in hip hop, we wonder why transgender people are being murdered weekly. These people are nothing more than conspirators to murder. But who are the Duggars. They tried to stand in judgement of the world and paint a picture of a happy, sane family but who were they really?
Now we know. Back in May, the Duggars found themselves in the midst of molestation allegations involving, Josh Duggar, who had the audacity to say after not going to jail, "I am so very thankful for God's grace, mercy and redemption." He had the nerve to speak of mercy and redemption all while condemning transgender people while molesting his sisters. The family even sent out a statement.
Despite all the evidence to prove the depravity of the Duggars, they still have a few hard core supporters that would who still defend a confessed molester and adulterer, yet with the same breath say we as transgender people are an abomination.
These people are no different than the murderer on the streets that have brutally killed our sisters and brothers. Their words ignite hate and violence against transgender people. These people need to be held responsible for their murder by association and their promotion of murder. Not one voice from the right wing christian community stands to condemn Josh Duggar for adultery, molestation and incest, yet Leelah Alcorn had to loose her innocent life and nearing 20 "known" sisters lost their life from hate by people who learned hate from people like this.
It's time right wing Christian fundamentalist follow their teachings and listen to what God is actually trying to tell them. All they have to do is shut their mouths from preaching hate, violence, and listen to what is being spoken to them and to the world through Josh Duggar...stop casting the first stone, stop placing yourselves on a throne and condemning the lives of innocent transgender people, just stop the damn hypocrisy already.

“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life. I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God’s grace, mercy and redemption.”
